Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I organise a pet portrait? A: Easy!! Just send me a photograph either by email or post and leave the rest to me! You can also refer to my 'How to Order' page for further information...
Q: Do I have to select the photograph from which my pet portrait will be created? A: Not at all! If you are unsure as to which photograph will make the best pet portrait you can leave the decision making up to me. I will notify you of which photograph I think will make the best pet portrait. I will confer with you to ensure that you are happy with my selection.
Q: How long does it take to create a pet portrait? A: Typically it takes around 4 to 6 weeks to create a pet portrait, although this can vary dependant on my current work load. Please contact me to obtain an accurate lead time.
Q: What if I have a special date that must be met? A: Let me know the date by which you require your pet portrait and I will advise you whether, or not, I can meet your deadline. If I say I will meet your deadline, I will meet your deadline!
Q: Do I need to pay a deposit? A: Yes, a deposit of A$100 (or equivalent if trading in another currency) is required upon placement of your pet portrait order.
Q: If I change my mind, is my deposit refundable? A: Yes. Your deposit is refundable if your pet portrait has not been commenced. Once I have started working on your pet portrait the deposit is non refundable.
Q: Can I view the progress of my pet portrait? A: Yes. Upon request I will create a web page on this site where I will regularly publish the progress of your pet portrait for you to view.
Q: When do I pay in full for my pet portrait? A: You only need to pay for your pet portrait in full once you are fully satisfied with your artwork.
Q: What if I want to make changes to my pet portrait? A: If you are dissatisfied with any element of your pet portrait just notify me and I will make whatever amendments you require.
Q: What if I request changes, but I am still unhappy with my pet portrait? A: If I cannot fully correct any changes that you may require to a pet portrait to your complete satisfaction the balance of money due (excluding the deposit) is not required to be paid, and any photographs that you may have submitted via post will be returned to you at my expense.
Q: Have you ever had a dissatisfied customer, or a customer that requested changes to a pet portrait? A: No! I have never had a dissatisfied customer, nor have I ever had a customer request that I make any changes to a pet portrait. All of my customers have been 100% happy with their original artwork!!!
Q: How much does a pet portrait cost? A: Please refer to my 'Prices' web page for pet portrait prices, and artwork sizes.
Q: What if I want a different sized artwork to those listed? A: Pet portraits can be created in any size to suit your requirements. Please contact me for pricing of alternative artwork sizes.
Q: Do the pet portrait prices include shipping costs? A: No. Shipping costs are not included in the pet portrait prices. Typically the expense for delivery of a pet portrait to a location within Australia is approximately $20 (this includes packaging, registered and insured post). The approximate cost for delivery to destinations outside of Australia is around A$50 (via courier delivery service), although cheaper services are available they generally take a minimum of 6 weeks.
Q: Are pet portraits supplied framed? A: No. Pet portraits are supplied unframed. Framing is a very personal selection and must, of course, suit your home decor. Therefore, framing is left up to you!
Q: How are pet portraits delivered? A: If you reside local to Lilydale, Vic, Australia you are most welcome to collect your pet portrait from me. If collection is not possible your pet portrait will be delivered to you carefully rolled and placed in a solid protective tube in preparation for shipping to you via your required method of delivery.
Q: Will you take photographs of my pet? A: Yes. If you reside in the general area of Lilydale, Vic, Australia I am more than happy to come to your house and photograph your pet with you! Please refer to my 'Photography Service' page for further information.
Q: Do I give drawing lessons? A: Sorry, but no. I often get asked if I give drawing lessons, but truth is I am too busy. While I would love to teach others my drawing techniques I just do not have enough time in my schedule to accommodate lessons - sorry!
